Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 12, 2026
Office Intercom ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data of our users ("you" or "user"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and safeguarded when you use our macOS application, Office Intercom (the "App").
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum necessary information required to operate the intercom features effectively.
- Authentication Data: Username, email address, or account identifiers used to log in and connect you with team members.
- Stored Credentials: Login tokens are stored locally on your device using macOS native secure storage (
safeStorage / Keychain). We do not store plain-text passwords on your local device.
- Microphone Permissions: The App requests permission to access your Mac's microphone solely to transmit real-time voice audio when you press to talk or initiate an intercom session.
- Audio Data: Voice data is transmitted live to facilitate real-time communication between active users. We do not record, store, or monitor your audio transmissions on our servers.
- Device Identifiers: Basic device metadata (macOS version, app version) used solely to maintain network connection stability and troubleshoot technical issues.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data strictly for the following purposes:
- To authenticate your identity and allow you to log in.
- To route real-time peer-to-peer or server-mediated audio calls between you and your designated team members.
- To remember your active session locally so you do not need to log in each time you open the App.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or audio data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or tracking across third-party websites/apps. We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: Infrastructure providers (e.g., relay/TURN/STUN servers) necessary to route audio packets, bound by strict confidentiality obligations.
- Legal Compliance: If required by law, subpoena, or government authority to protect our rights or user safety.
Data Security
- Local Data Security: Sensitive session tokens stored on your device are encrypted using macOS system-level encryption (
safeStorage via Keychain Access).
- Network Security: Real-time audio streams and authentication requests are encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols (TLS/SRTP).
- Sandboxing: Office Intercom runs strictly within the macOS App Sandbox environment enforced by Apple, ensuring the App cannot access unauthorized system files or background hardware without explicit user consent.
Your Choices and Rights
- Microphone Access: You can revoke or grant microphone permissions at any time via System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone on your Mac.
- Account Deletion / Logout: Logging out clears stored local credentials from your device's Keychain. You may request account deletion by contacting support.
